Tigers are bigger and stronger than lions. In fact, the tiger is the biggest and strongest wild cat on the planet.

Tigers hunt animals for food. A tiger is a good hunter. It can hunt in the day. Its stripes make it hard to see in long, dry grass.
It can hunt at night, too.
It can catch an animal with its sharp claws on its paws. Its claws can kill.
It has sharp, pointy teeth. Its teeth are good for cutting meat.

You can hear a tiger’s roar up to 2 miles away.
Tigers like to swim. But a tiger keeps it head out of the water.
A baby tiger is called a cub.
In the first 8 weeks, a cub drinks its mum's milk. Then the mum feeds her cubs meat.
She plays with her cubs.
Later she shows them how to hunt.
Cubs stay with the mum for 2 to 3 years.
