Bears have thick hair in the winter. The thick hair keeps them warm.
In the winter there is not much food for them to eat. So they go into their dens for a long sleep.
This sleep lasts for lots of weeks. In the den the mum may have 1 or 2 babies. Baby bears are called cubs.
The cubs drink mum's milk until spring.
