They live in gum trees. They eat the trees' leaves.

When a koala has a baby, the mum keeps her baby in a pouch. The baby stays in the pouch for a few months.

A baby koala is called a joey. The joey drinks its mum's milk in the pouch. When a joey is strong, it can leave the pouch and cling to its mum's back.
