Part of the Arctic is land and part is sea. Much of the sea has ice on top.

The fox has a fluffy tail.
The fox puts its tail around its face when it's windy. Its tail is like a scarf.
What animal is this?
It's an Arctic fox! In winter the fox has thick, white fur. But in spring the fox has grey-brown fur. In winter, its white fur blends in with the snow.

In spring the weather gets warmer. It does not need its warm, white fur, so the white fur falls out. Under the white fur is a new coat of grey-brown fur.
This fur is thinner, so the fox is cooler.
The fox eats little birds, eggs, fish, lemmings and voles.

The fox is good at sniffing and hearing. This makes it a good hunter. Its small, pointy ears can hear lemmings and voles under the ground.
When the fox hears its prey under the snow, it stops. Then, it jumps high into the air. When the fox lands, it breaks through the snow right onto its prey.
The fox may follow polar bears. It eats the meat that a polar bear has left.
